Lars Mikkelsen3-765x1024At 27 years old, he enrolled at National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. Apart from his appearance in the drama series "The Killing as well as his appearance in Borgen III, a Danish drama series. He also played a major role in the BBC drama Sherlock, playing the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. He was the president of Russia in House of Cards, an American television show. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in Danish television drama Herrens Veje, which was broadcast in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride in the Storm.In addition to his home country of Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English as well as mastering different accents. He has stated that his brother and he initially learned English through listening to and studying the Monty Python songs.
